INVASORIX, 2013 – 2019

Invasorix are artistix womenix who live and work in Mexico City and who make up a working group interested in queer/cuir feminist protest.

Through their constant dialogue with one another and with their imaginaryx friendx – Gloria Anzaldúa, Pina Bausch, bell hooks, Pedro Lemebel, Silvia Rivera Cusicanqui, María Sabina, Patti Smith, Annie Sprinkle, etc. – they have written and produced songs and video-clips that question gender roles and the artists’ tasks, as well as reflecting upon precarity, dreaming on alternative and/or utopic ways of being. Besides, they have carried out performances in (interventions to?) diverse educational contexts.

Among the challenges they have faced working togetherix, doubtlessly one of the main has been the challenge of writing and working collectively, as well as the difficulty of finding the chance, namely, the time, to get togetherix and build this space for affection, trust and reunion, which is necessary to invent dynamics for learning and unlearning.
